Durham’s Henley Campaign saw some great racing from all our crews, with more athletes entered than at any HRR for over a decade.
Our Island 8+ won the first ever women’s student 8+ race and held the course record for 24 hours.
With some excellent racing, our first Temple 8+ for 7 years lost to a very strong Dutch crew U.S.R Triton on the Thursday after beating a tough Exeter crew on the Wednesday.
Our top PA 4+ was knocked out by the eventual winners after getting a very tough draw.
Our second PA 4+ raced very well on the Wednesday but were unfortunately drawn against a quick crew.
Our women’s double had an unexpected meeting with the booms to end their Henley campaign early.
Overall, for a squad of mostly freshers this is very encouraging for years to come amd prepare to see some serious fighting next year!
