William Morgan-Jones
President
Will is a 2nd Year Engineering student who joined us last year having rowed as a junior at Hereford Cathedral School and Hereford Rowing Club. Will was part of our men’s 1st VIII last year which achieved gold at BUCS Head and bronze at BUCS regatta among other strong performances at major domestic events such as HORR, Metropolitan Regatta, and Marlow Regatta, culminating in a Friday appearance at Henley Royal Regatta. Will also showcased his versatility with strong sculling performances at BUCS including championship bronze in the quad, demonstrating DUBC’s facilitation of athletes of all strengths and with backgrounds in both disciplines.
He aspires to grow and develop the club towards our key aims of reclaiming the Victor Ludorum at BUCS Regatta and winning student events at Henley Royal Regatta, while seeking to also lead by example in continuing to advance the culture of the boat club to reflect our values as we pursue success.

Caspar Gray
Vice President
Caspar is a 3rd year Engineering student who began coxing as a junior at Winchester College. Since joining DUBC Caspar has established himself as a highly respected member of our squad, and was one of our club secretaries for last year. On the water, Caspar coxed the women’s 1st VIII and men’s 2nd VIII at Henley Royal Regatta, reaching the Friday with the women’s 8 in an extremely close race with fellow Northern rivals, Newcastle University. Earlier in the year Caspar also coxed both men’s and women’s championship 8s to gold at BUCS Head, as well as coxing our women’s development 8 to bronze. Caspar followed this up at BUCS regatta with several medals including championship silver with the women’s 1st VIII, contributing to the women’s squad defending the women’s Victor Ludorum once again.
Caspar’s experience, alongside his reputation for reliability and organisation make him extremely well placed to undertake this role, and he will be looking to support Will in navigating the year ahead.
Alfie dean
Treasurer
Alfie is a third year Archeology student who learned to row at DUBC as part of our development programme whilst in his first year. While last year was Aflie’s first year in the senior squad, he became an established member of our men’s 2nd VIII, producing competitve results at HORR, Metropolitan Regatta and Marlow Regatta, as well as an A final finish in intermediate 8s at BUCS. As the season progressed, Alfie and his crew imprinted themselves domestically as one of the fastest student 2nd VIIIs in the country, and convincingly qualified for Henley Royal Regatta before bowing out to a strong crew from Princeton University, USA.
As treasurer, Alfie is committed to making the costs for our athletes as transparent and fair as possible, working with our students to maintain the financial stability of the boat club.

eleanor morris
Secretary
Eleanor joined us from Walton Rowing Club last year and became a consistent member of our women’s 2nd VIII. This boat had a successful season producing strong results at domestic events such as Women’s Eights Head of the River, Metropolitan Regatta and Marlow Regatta, before making history as DUBC’s first ever women’s 2nd VIII to qualify for the Island Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta, where a strong showing on the Wednesday saw them knocked out in extremely close race against Nottingham University. Eleanor was also part of our womens 4- which won Henley Women’s Regatta, an achievement which reflects the depth of our squads at DUBC.
Joined by Caspar Gray, together both club secretaries will conduct the often “unseen” work of club admin, the importance of which cannot be overstated in facilitating DUBCs performances.

Caspar Gray
Secretary
Reprising this role for a second year, alongside the role of Vice President, Caspar has a great deal of experience in managing club admin. Joining us from Winchester College in 2022, Caspar has been extremely successful on the water at DUBC, coxing both 1st VIIIs to gold at BUCS head, and defending the women’s Victor Ludorum at BUCS Regatta with silver in the women’s championship 8. After completing last year’s season with a Friday appearance at Henley Royal Regatta, Caspar will be entering this season as one of DUBCs most seasoned and decorated athletes.
Following a commendable tenure as club secretary last year, alongside Eleanor Morris, Caspar will be continuing to manage the boat club admin to put us in the best position for success in the coming season.

Daisy JAckson
Women’s Captain
Daisy is a third year Psychology student. Having learnt to row at York City Rowing Club as a Junior, she competed at Henley Women’s and Henley multiple times before coming to Durham. Daisy quickly became a central character in the women’s squad, bringing energy and determination to every session. Daisy made the women’s 1V in both 2023 and 2024. In 2023 Daisy made the Saturday of Henley and in 2024 made the Friday in the Island.
Daisy has big ambitions for the year ahead and is eager and excited to build on last season’s results with Vice-Captain Izzie, leading a strong, unstoppable women’s squad to success and making this year an enjoyable and memorable one for all of DUBC.

CHarlie Warren
Men’s Captain
After a successful junior rowing career at The Windsor Boys School including winning The Fawley Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta in 2022. Charlie then joined DUBC and has been representing them at a very high level for the last 2 years, winning the intermediate 2- at BUCS regatta and was a key member at the 2 seat in the 1st VIII at Henley Royal Regatta, going through to the Friday in 2024. In his second year Charlie was the Kit Secretary and has been an invaluable member of the squad for his whole time here. Aside from rowing Charlie in his third year at Durham, studying Engineering.
Charlie is looking forward to the year ahead and believes he can lead the squad to achieve great things this year. Working alongside March as his Vice-Captain, he aims to maintain the culture that has brought so much success to the club over recent years.

izzie kennedy
Women’s Vice Captain
Izzie is a second year Psychology student. Having learnt to row at Surbiton High, Izzie has gone above and beyond in her junior years, stroking the Junior Women’s GB 8+ to a gold medal in 2023 and was the youngest women to make a Henley final, at just 15 years old.
She is one of the top athletes at the club and has achieved great success in her first year at Durham. Having gained stroking experience in her junior years, Izzie stroked the Durham women’s VIII to the Friday in the Island Challenge Cup at Henley 2024. She had a successful season at Durham, winning the Championships 2- at BUCS regatta and coming away with a Silver in the Championship 8.
Alongside Women’s Captain Daisy, they’re so excited to take forward the momentum and successes of last year into the upcoming one. They intend to make this year the most enjoyable and successful one yet for DUBC and the women’s squad.

March Turnbull
Men’s Vice Captain
March is a second year Engineer student and has been a key member of DUBC since joining the club in his first year. Having learnt to row at Radley College, March has had a hugely successful rowing career at Durham thus far. In his first year March rowed at Henley in the first eight, making it to the Friday in 2024, and also competing at BUCS coming away with a bronze medal in the Men’s Championship eights. Off the water March contributes massively to the atmosphere of the squad and helps to drive the standard and the culture of the club forward. This year he will work closely with Men’s Captain Charlie to help to continue the success the club has had in the last fews years, as well as creating a positive atmosphere and culture within the squad.

Ollie Olby
Fundraising and Sponsorship Officer
Ollie is a fourth year Engineering student at Durham, and has been an integral part of the boat club for many years. Having taken on the roles of Vice President for 2022/23 his contribution to the club is exemplary and has pushed all squad members around him to the next level. Learning to row at Emanuel School has given him a great base to thrive at DUBC and even with a few setbacks in recent years with injuries Ollie has competed for DUBC on the biggest stages and shone in boats he has been in.
This year Ollie will be coordinating fundraising events throughout the year and liaising with our sponsors. This will keep the club on its upward trajectory by helping to bring inbrand new equipment to compete with the worlds best.

Alex Duguid & Megan Hadfield
Media Officers
Hailing from Hampton School, Alex is one of our Social Media Officers for DUBC this year. He is a 2nd year student studying Liberal arts and is a proud member of St Johns College. Having started his rowing career on the river Thames with school, Alex took a gap year to row with Thames Rowing Club competing for them throughout the year. In his fresher year at Durham, Alex was a committed member of the squad competing in the Men’s 2nd VIII at HORR producing a solid result.
Megan is our other Social Media Officer, she started her rowing career at Cardiff & Vale before moving to Shiplake College for sixth form. She competed for Shiplake at Henley in the Diamond Jubilee Challenge Cup and the Prince Phillip Challenge Cup. Meg also took a gap year, where she went ‘down under’ and rowed for Sydney Rowing Club winning 2 gold medals at the National Australian Championships. In her fresher year at Durham, Meg competed in the Women’s 1st VIII picking up a Silver in championship 8’s and 4+ at BUCS regatta and making the Friday of the Island Challenge Cup at Henley.
They are both well-versed in social media and are keen to promote the image of the club across all platforms and show off all the successes of the club in the coming year.

Indigo Beauchamp & Oli Greenhalgh
Welfare Officers
Indigo learnt to row at Emanuel Boat club and is in her third year at Durham studying Engineering. Indigo has been a key part of the success enjoyed by DUBC’s women in the past few years.
Oli learnt to row in his first year at Durham University. He was a key part in the Dev squad in the last 2 years, becoming Dev secretary in is second year.
Indigo and Oli will be working closely together to ensure the safety, well-being, and inclusivity of all athletes. They aim to create a safe and friendly environment for all members of the squad. They will also be focusing on integrating new member of the squad.

Ella Darrington
Kit Secretary
Joining DUBC in 2023, Ella joined us from the Peterborough Rowing Club after a successful final season as a junior, where she won Bronze in the Women’s Ch1x at NSR and competed in the Diamond Jubilee Challenge Cup. Spending her first year in the 1st VIII after transitioning to sweep rowing, she helped the crew achieve some key successes throughout the year, such as a Gold at BUCS Head in February 2023, and making the Friday at Henley in the Island Challenge Cup. With the great organisation skills that she will be bringing to the role of Kit Secretary, she will be ensuring the club is supplied with high quality kit in which we can proudly represent the university.

Amelie davies & sam pratt
Social Secretaries
Amelie joined us last year from Molesey Boat Club where she learned to row as a junior and raced the season in our women’s 2nd VIII. As part of this boat she achieved competitive results at competitions at a national level such as Women’s Eights Head of the River, Metropolitan Regatta and Marlow Regatta, rounding off the season by qualifying for the Island Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta, DUBC’s first ever women’s 2nd VIII to do so. Amelie was also a part of our 4- which won Henley Women’s Regatta.
Sam Pratt joined us last year from Henley Rowing Club and learned to sweep this year at DUBC, having predominantly sculled as a junior. Sam took to this new discipline quickly, leading the men’s 2nd VIII from the stroke seat at Tyne New Years Head. Sam achieved competitive results at national events such as HORR and Metropolitan Regatta, and demonstrated his versatility competing at BUCS regatta in a range of boat classes across both sculling and sweep disciplines.
Amelie and Sam will seek to develop a culture within the boat club which appreciates the role and value of socials in creating a healthy outlet for our athletes to socialise and have fun, and are committed to managing this to be enjoyable, inclusive and responsible, to create a strong sense of community within the boat club as we train and race together through the season.
